Hey 8-) I am looking at that very GUI at the moment on the AmigaDE. I am also using the DE MP3 player, and in the next AA you will see some of the MP3 player skins - these are specially designed for the PDA, but work fine on the Desktop. Here are some pictures for your salivation. Please be aware that the DE mockup was drawn about 9 months ago and so is resolution fixed (which explains some of the jaggies) - the engine that we now have suffers no such problems at all - quite the contrary in fact. Of course these are prototypes, and everything is skinnable, but they should give you a good idea of the direction we are talking. These are the work of two guys, Matt Chaput and Kevin Saunders, both very talented and both very committed to Amiga. I would also like to say this 'birthday pack' represents not only astonishing value for money but also represents Amiga Inc's commitment to the community. Bill had to fight very hard to get the birthday pack through - he wanted to reward the community for its patience in what has been a long haul for us all. With so much new product in the next year, and so much interest being shown by non Amigans, we obviously want to make as much money as possible, but he also wanted to say a big thank you to those who had stood by, and help out those Amiga companies as well before the onslaught begins. Just think, in six months time, very fast Amiga ones with amazing audio, video, networked up, SCSI humming, all card bought from a shop at competitive prices like normal people, Hyperion games screaming on the hardware, old apps happily running, new apps being developed, Sharp PDAs that can connect to them and co-exist in the same logical AmigaDE space. I urge all of you to talk up this very limited offer, not just because it is great value for money, not just because you get to use and see all of the new interface, player, audio, graphics, not just because you also will then be able to start using a lot of the new AmigaDE content being developed specifically for Sharp - (PlanetZed by Matt Kille is a favourite of mine) but also because it proves Bill right to the money men and suits that we by necessity have to deal with, the ones who were agains this idea, against the AmigaOS and who believe that the community is dead. The future is very bright but don't let lethargy or disillusionment come between Amiga Inc and its community, and don't let it come between you saving a bundle either ;-) So go now to the AmigaMall to get your Party Pack !
