What accelerators can be bought for the A500?

Before the A4000 and A1200 were released there were a large number of accelerators available for the A500. These allowed the use of standard 30-pin SIMMs as well as giving the humble A500 the heart of a 040. the only problem was that many were incompatible with hard drives, including Commodores own, meaning you could either use one or the other. At the beginning of 1998 Power Computing announced the distribution of the Viper 530, a 68030 accelerator. This piece of kit allowed the A500 to be upgraded with up to 128Mb of Fast ram, the connection of up to 7 SCSI devices, a 68882 socket, and two 2.5" IDE port. The accelerators retail price is £179.95 with no ram although this may have changed by the time you read this.
