BoXeR 2

Developer: Index Information
Year of Announcement: 1997

The BoXeR 2 design was an update of the first BoXeR prototype. This release would have implemented PCI slots (this was a time when the BoXeR used ISA slots) and dropped the AGA chipset in favour of a programmable graphics chip. The chip would be able to sync down to all AGA modes as well as allowing higher resolutions only found on current PC graphics cards.

The continued delay of the BoXeR motherboard allowed Mick Tinker to implement these features making the ISA-only Boxer redundant. If a BoXeR 2 is developed it will most likely be a PPC-only system.
