I have seen a program that claims to allow the user to write to any CD drive. Does this work?

Whilst there are a number of CDR programs available for the Amiga, the one you are referring to is called CDWrite. It was released during 1995 and, according to the advert, allowed you to virtually write to any CD drive. The CD data is in fact stored on your hard drive which the program transparently combines with data on the CD. It is useful for altering particular preferences on the CD, such as replacing a CD icon with your own. However, it is not a CD writer and is a waste of time.
