How do I install Deluxe Paint to hard drive? There is no Install program.

Firstly, this guide can be used for any program, not just DPaint. These tips will work on most serious applications but not on many games.

Create a drawer on your hard drive and name it "DPaint." Insert the disk to be copied, open the disk window and select Show.. All files from the pull-down menus. Now highlight all of the icons and drag them into the DPaint directory. Once the first disk has been copied, repeat the process with following disks.

I click on the program icon but it asks me to insert the original disk. What do I do?

You need to "assign" the disk to a certain place on the hard drive. This tells the Amiga to look on the hard drive for any files it needs. Open a Shell window and type:

Assign Dpaint: <LOCATION OF DIRECTORY>

Where <LOCATION OF DIRECTORY> is, type the place where the drawer is. So, the line may look like the following:

Assign DPaint: Work:Applications/DPaint/

To avoid having to enter the command every time you reboot the machine you can add it to the S:User-Startup file.
