When using a particular piece of hardware with my Amiga it begins to heat up. Is there something wrong with it?

I would not expect so. All electrical objects give off a certain amount of heat, my accelerator feels like it could burn eggs. If it works, there is nothing to worry about. If hardware, such as a hard drive, constantly begins to make unexpected sounds for no apparent reason I would suggest backing up your data. The device may fail, especially if it is warm during the summer and there is little ventilation.
