How easy is it to remove the Kickstart ROM from an A1200?

It is very easy. Just open the case and you will see the ROM chips (2 off) near the front/middle, outside the shielding. They're only socketed so it is possible to take them out using either a chip extractor (recommended), available from most electronic stores or a screwdriver (be very careful) to gently lift them out. When you are replacing them note the orientation and position so that you can put them in the right way.
