Why can't I run many of my older applications and games?

Many badly written applications and games "hit the hardware" directly and dislike running on anything that does not fit the systems they were programmed on. When the graphics chipset swapped from OCS to ECS and then AGA it left a trail of non-working software. If you have an accelerator disable the copyback and caches. You can also disable these using the boot menu allowing you to alter the chipset being used. Alternatively if the software requires booting from Workbench try one of the many degraders such as KillAGA or the originally titled, Degrader.
