During the past five years, Eyetech has played an increasing part in upgrading the Amiga user, with a wide-range of DIY hardware being released. This has ranged from 4-way IDE adapters to keyboard interfaces for the Amiga tower wannabes. During 1998, they combined their efforts with the A1200 Magic Packs to sell ready-made systems. Here are the results.

Amiga 1200 Magic Pack

This is the basic Amiga Magic bundle. All the systems below consisted of this bundle. Follow this link for more information.

EZPC-Tower

During 1998, Eyetech released a series of DIY towers and other kit designed to allow the average Amiga user to effortlessly upgrade their machine. After a few months they were inundated with requests from people wanting to integrate their Amiga and their Intel PC into the same case. This resulted in the development of the EZPC-Tower, a PC in an EZ-Tower that also had room for an Amiga to fit. This was promoted for those who may have otherwise been forced to sell their Amiga. It was promoted under the heading,

"Love your A1200 but need PC compatibility for work or study purposes? Then you need Eyetechs EZPC-Tower systems for your A1200."

  • A full Amiga EZ-Tower
  • Jumperless 266MHz-capable TX PC Pentium motherboard
  • 166MHz Pentium processor
  • 32Mb RAM
  • Windows 95 keyboard and PC mouse,
  • Windows 95 Operating System
  • High-resolution graphics card with full-screen MPEG playback,
  • 32-voice high-performance soundcard with direct-to-disk, CD-quality recording software,
  • 1.7Gb hard drive
  • 16x CD-ROM drive
  • 2x Serial ports
  • 1x Parallel port
  • 1.44Mb floppy drive
You can also choose any one of the following two bundles for Amiga integration into your PC system:

Option 1

  • Eyetech EZ VGA adapter- External Amiga scandoubler allowing the use of PC SVGA monitors
  • PC-Amiga networking software
  • EZ-Key- PC keyboard adapter for Amiga
  • Remote controlled switchbox to swap monitor and keyboard between PC and Amiga sides.

Eyetech sell an updated A1200 in an EZ-Tower case under the slogan,

"Looking for an all-in-one package? Why not treat yourself to the Eyetech EZ-Tower professional Pack?"

It consisted of:

  • EZ-Tower case
  • A1200 motherboard
  • AmigaOS 3.1 & manuals
  • EZ-Key -keyboard adapter
  • Windows 95 keyboard
  • 68040 25MHz accelerator
  • 16Mb Fast Ram
  • 1.7Gb hard drive,
  • 8x CD-ROM,
  • Eyetech 4-device buffered interface,
  • Registered EZ-IDE software
  • 880k floppy drive and faceplate
  • Amiga Magic bundle
And the option to have:
  • LS120 super floppy drive (£99.95 extra)
